How to buy a home in 2018!

Lot 260 Athena Bold Special

If you’re considering buying a home this year, you’ll probably have already researched property prices and what’s going on in the property market but what else should you be doing in preparation? Three things Domain.com.au recommends are 1) researching the local area, 2) making sure your finance is in place and 3) getting legal advice sorted before making your big decision. The Queensland Government’s website also has a great guide on “how to buy a home in 2018” here which is especially helpful for first home buyers as it includes info on the First Home Buyers Grant.

Building a home in a development like North Harbour is an extremely attractive option for those looking to move this year. Why build? Well building your home means you can get exactly what you need from the start of your home owning journey. No need to spend on renovations or competing against other buyers – just choose your block, design your home or choose from the designs of one of our display village builders and get ready to move into the northside’s best new development. There are lots of designs to choose from, as you’ll see from our Display Village of 35 homes, with a lot of exciting styles and layouts on offer.

We’re currently selling from Stage 20. Stage 20 is located adjacent to the Raff Creek eco-corridor and Reflections Park. The Raff Creek eco-corridor is a beautiful, forested area of natural beauty which will be protected in perpetuity and we’re very pleased to be able to open access to Raff Creek for our residents and visitors to enjoy.

Reflections Park opened in October 2017 and includes a double picnic shelter, tricycle / scooter path, bikeway path, BBQs, access to the Raff Creek eco-corridor and play equipment suitable for young children including a two-seat swing, spinner, slide, climbing wall and mega tower. Fitness stations and water fountains will be added this year. Reflections Park is also the home of Sunrise Yoga in the Park, a free event held every Sunday at 7am.

Stage 20 is also close to our third park, Riparian Park, which will include play equipment aimed at older kids such as a flying fox and basketball half court and shelters, BBQs and fitness equipment.  Riparian Park will start construction in early 2018 for completion in mid-2018.

Prices in Stage 20 start from $234,000 with lot sizes ranging from 400 sqm up to 723 sqm. We also have some availability in previous stages:

What’s New at North Harbour

In a positive move for the North Harbour community, Moreton Bay Regional Council, with Unity Water, has agreed to manage erosion on the northern bank of the proposed marina site along the Caboolture River and that North Harbour will manage erosion on the southern bank. Whilst this does not mean that the proposed marina is approved, it is a good step forward in working with the council to make this much wanted project happen. Read the full story here.

Cam’s New Year’s Tips. Get into your training and eating habits early! Most people will hold off for a few weeks and this causes them to fall behind. It is Summer, you don’t need to eat all the warm puddings and pies for deserts. Substitute it with cold fruit. Get yourself a small group of friends or family members and make a pact to grind it out together. No one is to let each other down no matter what! Be consistent with food diaries, this will be a wakeup call to you and show you what aspects of your diet need improvement. Get active with your kids, this may mean going for walks with them or even kicking a ball down at the park. It’s enjoyable physical activity and you don’t even realise it’s exercise! Block out time in your day to dedicate it to exercise and make no excuses to bail out. If you’re a midweek drinker, it’s time to stop drinking midweek and leave it to weekends. Alcohol has plenty of calories and if you remove these you’ll feel a lot healthier in a minimal amount of time. Don’t try and make drastic changes straight away. Progressive changes are more successful in the long-run Ask for advice, ask to be educated. Education goes along way when achieving goals, always look for ways to improve yourself and your lifestyle. 4 M’s: Maintain Momentum to Maximise results in Minimal Time!
