The Gift of Giving in the Burpengary Community

North Harbour has sponsored and supported many local groups since our inception, giving back to the Burpengary community that has so warmly welcomed us.

The North Harbour Community Grants Program has been developed to support organisations in the Burpengary community and beyond. These groups are not-for-profit and doing great work to help others in the region.

We have such a wonderful diverse array of community groups that support many locals by getting people involved in the community spirit and at events. And North Harbour is proud to say that we are able to donate to a variety of those groups to help bring the community together.

There are several sporting groups we have sponsored over the years including the Caboolture Sports Football Club. They boast nine flood lit fields, three of which are full sized, and one of which has competition standard lighting. The club fields 51 teams for male and female juniors and seniors across most divisions in the Brisbane competition zone.

Inspiring Brighter Futures is a non-profit organisation offering wellbeing mentoring programs to disadvantaged people. The foundation was established by a group of educators and businesspeople determined to help those in the community who need it most. They have several programs they run in the Moreton Bay Region with teenagers. North Harbour is happy to have been supporting Inspiring Brighter Futures for several years, as well as our director being part of the mentoring group.

In 2022 we expanded the North Harbour Grants Program and introduced several new organisations into our program.

We were proud to learn about and be able to support the Harrison Payne Initiative for the first time this year. A not-for-profit Initiative that aims to provide education to young people on beach & 4WD safety.

This group was able to cook up a sausage sizzle for our Burpengary community at the recent North Harbour Display Village car show in November. It helped the group to spread the word about their organisation and all the good working they are achieving.

There is nothing better for North Harbour then being able to be part of Burpengary events and events in the broader region. We take pride in not only being a development but helping to make the community grow and thrive.

This helps us enrich the lives of those who are active in our Burpengary community, and you can be part of it.

Come and explore the North Harbour Display Village for your opportunity to be part of our growing community.

We have plenty on offer not only to community groups but to a wonderful lifestyle in the North Harbour community. You can be involved in the groups; you can attend Burpengary events and you can enrich your own way of living.

Sustainable Home Tips: North Harbour’s Guide to Eco-Friendly Living

Where you Build is Just as Important as how you Build

Before laying the foundation for an environmentally sustainable home, the community you choose plays a pivotal role. North Harbour masterfully integrates the historical and environmental essence of Burpengary East in the Moreton Bay Region. Over 55% of the area (420 Hectares) is dedicated to open spaces, ensuring harmony with the area’s natural features and promoting the eco-friendly values of the region.

Our community boasts expansive public spaces, interconnected road networks, and integrated transport. With an extensive network of footpaths and walking tracks, families can seamlessly move from one green space to another. Experience the serenity of a secluded community, while being just minutes away from the Bruce Highway. The charm of the river frontage is preserved and enhanced, with a 100m buffer of riverine vegetation along the 9km frontage to the Caboolture River. This not only protects wildlife corridors but also contributes to water quality and bank stability.

Building or Renovating for a Sustainable Home with North Harbour

For residents keen on energy-efficient housing, North Harbour offers comprehensive design guidelines. These guidelines aim for a 7-star NatHERS rating, promoting the use of solar panels, solar hot water systems, and building materials with low lifecycle energy consumption. Key sustainable design considerations include:

-Optimising passive design for solar gain

-Eaves and external shading devices for seasonal sun control

-Insulation across ceilings, roofs, and walls

-Colour choices that mitigate heat loads

-Natural cross-ventilation

-Rooftop designs for efficient solar panel positioning

Moreover, North Harbour champions renewable energy, incorporating solar-powered CCTV security cameras, solar power for our sales office, and LED lighting. Through our design guidelines, we also advocate for efficient appliances and 4-star WELS rated water fittings and fixtures, such as taps, toilets, and washing machines, to reduce waste of energy and water.

Our commitment to environmental excellence is evident in our recognition by the Envirodevelopment accreditation for all six elements of the scheme. This accolade underscores our dedication to creating a sustainable house and community for both our residents and the broader community.
