Eat, Drink and Be Merry At These Burpengary Restaurants & Eateries!

Burpengary Restaurants & Eateries

Whilst the culinary delights of the Burpengary region might not be the first thing you consider when visiting us (if you’re not in the know), you could be missing out by not venturing into one of the Moreton Bay Region’s best kept secrets. While this list is by no means exhaustive, it will give you a taste (pun intended) of what’s on offer in our local array of Burpengary restaurants, cafes and takeaways.

Basil and Vine: This stunningly decorated and award-winning Italian bistro is filled with atmosphere despite it’s humble location in Burpengary Plaza shopping centre and is always popular whether it is for coffee, breakfasts, lunches or dinners. Great for casual dining as well as catching up with larger groups of friends and family, this is one of the North Harbour team’s go to places every time we have an excuse to celebrate! The staff is excellent and we love the desserts, salads, pastas, wine selection, cocktails, pizzas…ok, we love it all…excuse me while I just go and book our next visit! Seriously though, if you like home cooked Italian food in a great setting with excellent staff, this is the place for you.

Also at Burpengary Plaza, is The Burrito Bar. The Burrito Bar unsurprisingly specialises in Mexican food but with a modern twist: All the expected items are on the menu burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, nachos – as are margaritas, tequila, long island ice tea and more. Opening hours are 11am to 9pm so it’s great for lunch or dinner – or both   Everything we’ve tried has been great, and the service is very good. We’re looking forward to going back to try some more cocktails! The Burrito Bar also does takeaways and specials, making this treat a great and affordable choice.

Our next choice offers not just one restaurant but many, Bite Markets at North Harbour which is open every Friday and Saturday from 4pm till late. With over 30 flavour makers offering you the perfect place to eat, drink and spend time with friends and family, the treats come from all over the world; bao buns, oysters, waffles, dumplings, wings, gelato, ice tea, Italian, curry and so much more. As well as flavour makers offering these mouth-watering food and beverage choices, Bite has nightly live entertainment and a children’s play zone and throws some of the best Burpengary events! Bite is a short 3 minutes from the North Harbour Sales Centre at Exit 150 off the Bruce Highway on Nolan Drive. Whilst we haven’t tried every single one of the 30 flavour makers just yet, we’re certainly working on it!

Divine Pizza & Pasta is as described! With a wide menu of delicious pizzas and pastas plus spare ribs and wings, this takeaway in The Hub at Burpengary East is hard to beat. In fact we love it so much that we may or may not order the pizza special to celebrate every Friday lunchtime. It is also one of our favourite go-to dinner stops. Perfect for an easy meal at home, or al fresco in one of our parks while the kids have a play, there’s something for everyone on this great menu.

Also at The Hub is Aldo’s Patisserie! This new little slice of heaven opened in late 2021 and is already filling the bellies and hearts of North Harbour residents. The tagline coffee, sweets, savoury and a taste of Italy about sums it up and online comments are raving with positive reviews about how good this place is, so don’t delay if you need a treat.

And finally, Havn Café at North Harbour has to get a mention! Havn Café (located next to the Sales and Information Centre on the corner of Buckley Road and Fraser Drive) is open for coffee, smoothies, snacks, breakfast and lunches both sit down and takeaway meals. We might be slightly biased, but as caffeine enthusiasts we think their coffee is up there as some of the best we’ve ever had and their online reviews seem to agree! North Harbour’s Parks Recognised in Prestigious Awards

North Harbour’s extensive parklands and open space at Burpengary East have taken out top honours in the Parks and Recreation category at the prestigious 2021 UDIA Queensland Awards for Excellence.

North Harbour’s open space includes five parks, free events such as yoga and parkrun, and features 6km of riverside mountain bike trails, walking trails, and educational recreation facilities which showcase the history of the original “Moray Fields” settlement at the Queensland Heritage Registered site.

North Harbour was also named a finalist in the highly competitive Environmental Excellence award category, highlighting our commitment to sustainability, innovative and efficient practices.

North Harbour Project Director, Bryan Finney, said the North Harbour team was delighted to be recognised as an industry leader in both categories.

“We are extremely proud of what has been achieved so far at North Harbour,” said Mr Finney. “Being recognised as a winner and finalist for these two awards categories shows our commitment to creating one of the finest residential communities anywhere in Australia.

North Harbour’s connected master plan promotes the site’s natural features and seamlessly blends residential areas with pocket parks, playgrounds, gathering spaces, picnic areas and gardens.

“One of the key drawcards for new residents at North Harbour is the amount of green open space and parkland they can enjoy here,” said Mr Finney. “Our community currently offers five unique parks with a sixth expected to open in the coming months.

“The most exciting part is that the award winning open space delivered at North Harbour so far is just a fraction of what we ultimately hope to provide. There is much more to come once additional approvals have been achieved. The extensive riverfront land within the project is a wonderful opportunity for green space and outdoor attractions of regional significance, which will work hand in hand with the marina precinct to provide new jobs, tourism and recreational opportunities for North Harbour residents and the broader community.”

A State Government’s commitment to declaring North Harbour a Priority Development Area (PDA) will see a massive expansion in the community’s recreational offering, including a 319-hectare riverfront parkland, a 400-berth marina and new waterfront village.
