Why Buy Old When You Can Build Brand New!

When you first start on your journey towards a new home you might wonder why so many people choose to build a new home rather than buy old? Surely it must be easier to buy something that’s already there? Well, not always. In fact, in many cases buying established means being stuck with someone else’s second-hand stuff ups, or maybe only being able to afford a “fixer upper” which needs costly and time-consuming renovations to make it into your perfect house. So, why not get what you want to start with? There are many reasons people choose to buy land and build at North Harbour rather than buying one of the established homes for sale in Burpengary.

North Harbour - Build brand new

Build Exactly What YOU Want, No Compromise

One of the main reasons our residents choose to build new rather than buy second-hand when they’re looking to buy houses is that building your home means you can get exactly what you need from the start of your home owning journey. No need to spend on renovations or competing against other buyers on price – just choose your house and land package and get ready to move into the northside’s best new development. There are plenty of designs to choose from, as you’ll see from our Display Village of 35 homes, with a lot of exciting styles and layouts on offer. You can also custom build and work with your builder to design your own home.

North Harbour - Best new development

Expat residents Rachel and Fergus looked in a number of areas on the northside and at a range of both land for sale and established homes before purchasing at North Harbour. “We chose to build new as everywhere we looked at that was established meant compromising on something, which we didn’t want to do.”

Ram and his family built for the same reason. “We chose to buy land, so we could custom build. The land size at North Harbour and the location are perfect for our needs.”

Affordability – More for Less

Residents Kelly and Justin built their first home at North Harbour. “We are both very particular with our tastes, we had certain items on our wish-list that could not be met by established homes within in our price range.”

Fellow first home buyers Tiarna and Zac have three children and found they could build their perfect family home at North Harbour. “Building your own home is every person’s dream and at North Harbour we could do that. We could customise our home to exactly how we wanted it and at North Harbour it was affordable.”

North Harbour - Affordable

When you build brand new rather than buy one of the established homes for sale in Burpengary you’re also getting brand new amenities included. The North Harbour community has its own fibre optic broadband network capable of speeds matching the fastest broadband in Australia* of up to 100Mb per second from a broad range of internet service providers. Each home has access to this highspeed broadband connection.

Each home also has access to reticulated gas and is within 325 metres of our 1,000 acres of parks, eco-corridors and open space. Future development is proposed to include more parks (there are currently two), access to our 9km of river frontage and proposed dog park, trails, cafes, shops, bars, schools and much more.

Everything Is Brand New

Why buy second hand when you can have a home with everything brand new? Get the latest in kitchen and bathroom finishes, perfect alfresco areas, butler pantries, media rooms – whatever you want, all brand new.

If you’re unsure about whether a new build is for you, make sure you visit as many homes as possible to get an idea of what you need. Building a new home in a masterplanned development like North Harbour is a great way to use the First Home Buyers Grant to its full potential. North Harbour ticks all the boxes for a great investment in your future – the longevity of the project, location, experience of the developers and first-class amenities.

North Harbour - Perfect bathroom finishes

The fact is that the northside of Brisbane is growing at a rapid rate. With an array of new global stores such as IKEA moving into North Lakes (just 10-15 minutes from North Harbour), a new university campus arriving in 2020 at Petrie (20-25 minutes away) and regular road and transport upgrades offering employment and excellent lifestyle amenities – the northside has become a very sought-after location. North Harbour gives First Home Buyers an amazing opportunity to move into a brand-new home in an excellent location for a great price rather than considering older houses for sale in Burpengary which may need additional work after purchase.

Considering moving to Brisbane? Discover your perfect lifestyle at North Harbour

Moving to Brisbane is becoming an ever-popular choice for those struggling to get onto the property ladder, largely due to the comparable unaffordability of many of Australia’s major cities, Sydney and Melbourne in particular.

And people are moving for more than purely financial reasons with quality of life also cited as a major factor for moving to Brisbane. Queensland’s capital has great liveability ratings, in fact a new study by realestate.com.au has confirmed that life in Brisbane is actually far better than Melbourne, a city which regularly tops world polls of “most liveable cities”.

REA Group chief economist Nerida Conisbee said she wasn’t at all surprised to see Brisbane dominating the REA’s most liveable list. “We’ve always known Brisbane does have so many amazing lifestyle elements to it, but this proves it,” she said.

Ms Conisbee argued Melbourne was beginning to lose its liveability appeal due to population growth and infrastructure bottlenecks, whereas homes for sale in Brisbane offer great value for money in a capital city where property is still affordable.

The median house price in Sydney is a whopping $996,000, while the median house price in North Harbour’s suburb of Burpengary East is almost half that at a much more affordable $538,000. The cost of living in Brisbane is also 12% lower than in Sydney, which gives home buyers more spare cash to spend on enjoying life in and around our beautiful Moreton Bay Region.

“The affordability (at North Harbour) has meant I can be a stay at home Mum. We emigrated from the UK and looked at moving to Sydney or Melbourne, but the affordability and lifestyle are so much better here.” – Rachel

First Home Buyers also get a great hand onto the property ladder in Queensland with the First Home Buyers Grant currently standing at $20,000 for buying brand new homes for sale in Brisbane. (For more information on the First Home Buyers Grant click here).

North Harbour differs from similarly sized southeast Queensland developments in that on completion we will offer a huge 1000 acres of open space and parklands (even larger than Central Park in New York) including environmental corridors, river access and a unique $3m heritage precinct (currently under construction).

The proposed 1000 acres of open space and parklands include walking and bike tracks, lots of trees (almost 60,000 have already been planted) and plenty of play equipment for young and older kids, BBQs, artworks and picnic areas as well as exercise equipment. North Harbour has two parks open already, another will open in 2019 and also offers weekly free events which are open to everyone in the community including parkrun and Sunrise Yoga.
