New Park Announced, Final Weeks for First Home Buyer’s $20,000 and our How to Buy a Home Top Tips

Hope you’re having an excellent week – we’re celebrating yet another milestone at North Harbour this week as we can announce work has begun on our second Park!

How to Buy a Home Top Tips

Our first Park, the Village Park, opened in October 2015 at the end of Moreton Bay Boulevard and was the first of the parks to be built in North Harbour. It incorporates two areas of play equipment to suit both older children and pre-schoolers and has Wi-Fi, shelters, drinking fountains (for people and pets) and BBQs on 6000m2 of beautifully landscaped space.

Very popular with both residents and visitors, the Village Park has become the centre of North Harbour’s community playing host to many events, birthday parties, playdates, boot camps and much more!

Our second Park is located on the south-western side of North Harbour near the Raff Creek Environmental Corridor and will also include play equipment (different to the Village Park to give residents lots of choice), BBQs and shelters. This Park will also offer exercise equipment in fitness stations which will provide our residents with the opportunity for free workouts in beautiful surroundings.

As we’ve mentioned (many times!) North Harbour boasts the largest area devoted to open space and parklands within the northern corridor (the stretch between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast). Extensive bike and walking tracks will give residents heaps of options for exercise and fun activities. Included in our masterplan are proposed playing fields, a sporting complex and a heritage precinct (more on this in upcoming Blogs) which will complement the water based activities provided by the Caboolture River and Moreton Bay.

Our Project Director, Peter Lightbody, said: “We’re excited to bring our residents some more excellent park facilities, this park will be located close to our current land releases being Stages 15 and 16.

We’re aiming to have the Park ready to go later in 2017 and will provide updates on progress and openings nearer the time.”

First Homebuyers

If you’re gearing up to buy a new home – hopefully in time to receive the $20,000 First Home Buyer’s Grant – you might be facing an overwhelming amount of choices on what to do.

Firstly, if you’re a First Home Buyer and keen on free money, make sure you get that contract signed ASAP in order to be eligible for $20,000! The Grant ENDS on June 30th so if you are wanting to buy, please get in quick.

The First Home Buyers Grant has been at $20,000 for one year and will end on 30 June 2017. Provided by the State Government, the First Home Buyers Grant is a one-off financial grant only available to those buying their first home in Australia who meet all the eligibility criteria.

Eligible recipients must be:

– at least 18 years old
– purchasing a new property under $750,000
– an Australian Citizen or permanent resident
– receiving the grant for the first time

If you’re unsure about whether a new build is for you make sure you visit as many homes as possible to get an idea of what you need. Building a new home in a masterplanned development like North Harbour is a great way to use the First Home Buyers Grant to its full potential. North Harbour ticks all the boxes for a great investment in your future – the longevity of the project, location, experience of the developers and first-class amenities.

The fact is that the northside of Brisbane is growing at a rapid rate. With an array of new global stores such as IKEA moving into North Lakes (just 10-15 minutes from North Harbour), a new university campus arriving in 2020 at Petrie (20-25 minutes away) and regular road and transport upgrades offering employment and excellent lifestyle amenities – the northside has become a very sought after location. North Harbour gives First Home Buyers an amazing opportunity to move into a brand-new home in an excellent location for a great price rather than focussing on older houses for sale which may need additional work after purchase.

Why build? Well building your first home means you can get exactly what you need from the start of your home owning journey. No need to spend on renovations or competing against other buyers – just choose your house and land package and get ready to move into the northside’s best new development. There are lots of designs to choose from, as you’ll see from our Display Village of 35 homes, with a lot of exciting styles and layouts on offer.

We appreciate that buying your first home can be a difficult and overwhelming process so aim to make it as painless as possible for you! Our sales team is on site 7 days a week, 10am-5pm and we’re happy to answer any questions you have. We have a coffee machine and bottled water to restore you after you’ve viewed the many show homes on offer, there’s plenty of space to sit and discuss options and even a place for kids to play while you have a chat. We’ve also put together a special web page for First Home Buyers complete with mortgage calculator and house and land packages geared towards first home owners, here http://www.northharbour.com.au/first-home-owners-grant/

We’ve also gathered together a few of the best How to Buy a Home guides we could find:

Have a great week; we’ll be back next week with more news from North Harbour.

North Harbour Partners with Moreton Bay Lions and More!

Welcome to our latest North Harbour missive. This week we’re getting fit and sporty with a new local community partnership, updates on our sporting sponsorships, Village Park Boot Camp info and a focus on home gyms with GJ Gardner.

Moreton Bay Lions

Our big news this week is our new community partnership with local AFL Club Moreton Bay Lions ASFC. The Lions’ state of the art AFL Precinct is located under five minutes from North Harbour, in the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex and has been described by AFL Chairman, Mike Fitzpatrick as “comparable with the best community sports facilities in Australia”.
The Club has Senior, Women’s and Youth/ Junior teams with plenty of on and off the field fun to be had. As regular readers will know, North Harbour’s masterplan includes having a sporting complex of our own in the future, and sport and recreation are big on our list of must-haves for our residents.
We are very pleased to be able to sponsor The Lions’ 2017 season and to help the Club achieve its vision of becoming the Club of choice for players and supporters of Australian Football in the Moreton Bay region. You’ll see our North Harbour signs across the grounds and the Club and look out for upcoming Club offers for North Harbour residents on our Facebook page.

Both ladies have played at Caboolture since they were juniors and are now playing on the world stage. For more on the competition see here.
The Touch Super Series is in full swing with both Men’s and Women’s games on a Tuesday night being of the expected exceptional level (this competition is for Elite players – Australian and Queensland and developing Elite Juniors – 75% of the players are home grown Caboolture Players).

If you’re a footy fan save the dates for the following

Boot Camp with Cam at The Village Park

Moreton Bay Lions

As you may remember, North Harbour resident and Boot Camp guru Cam started a new Boot Camp in our Village Park at the beginning of the year. The training sessions have been extremely popular with a great take up from North Harbour residents.

In fact the Boot Camps are so popular that Cam has started up additional classes. We’re really pleased to see our Village Park getting such great use! As Cam says: “When I saw the North Harbour Village Park it was like a dream come true. Every trainer wants to have the perfect location with lights, plenty of grass and shelter. I found what I’ve always wanted and it was right where I wanted to live so I consider myself very lucky!”

If you’d like to come try Cam’s Village Park Bootcamps they are currently on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6pm as well as an 8am session on Saturdays and more days to come. Your first session is free and prices start at about $8 per session. For more info you can contact Cam on 0403 932 060 or visit www.cam-fit.com.
