As part of our commitment to making North Harbour the gold medal standard, most liveable place to buy land for sale in Burpengary we’re planning to create a sports complex with a range of sports fields where teams of all ages can enjoy getting outside and kicking the ball about. Or hitting it, rolling it or throwing it…whatever your game may be. The complex will include space for associated supporting activities such as Clubhouses with facilities for making and selling food, storage space and meeting areas.

To kick things off North Harbour and Caboolture Sports Club are pleased to announce that North Harbour is the 2017 sponsor of Caboolture Touch Football Club, which has 36 junior and 90 senior teams ranging from U8s to Open.  There is a team to suit almost everyone: Junior, Senior Mixed, Senior Mens, Senior Womens, Over 40s Mens, Elite Super Series Mens, and Elite Super Series Womens.

As our Project Director, Peter Lightbody, says: “Local community recreational programs align extremely well with the values and vision of the North Harbour community.

North Harbour boasts over 1,000 acres of recreational space in our master plan, which includes parkland, children’s playgrounds, exercise equipment, canoe launching platforms, walking tracks, bicycle tracks and of course our well-publicised Heritage Precinct.”

North Harbour is also sponsoring Caboolture Soccer Club and Caboolture Dog Obedience Club, all part of our commitment to becoming an integral part of our local community. These Clubs are part of the six founding Clubs of the Caboolture Sports Club which is located a short drive from North Harbour and is the Caboolture region’s premier community Club complete with a clutch of awards to its name.

The Club was founded in February 1994 when six local sporting groups – Softball, Touch Football, Cricket, Dog Obedience, Soccer and Rugby Union (three of which are sponsored by North Harbour) – collectively formed a single incorporation and Caboolture Sports Club Inc was born.

The group’s aim was to provide ‘a welcoming, safe and friendly club environment with quality sporting facilities in our shire’, and on December 9, 1997 the six sporting Clubs’ dream was realised when the Caboolture Sports Club at Station Road, Morayfield, officially opened its doors to the public.

Throughout its history, the Caboolture Sports Club has experienced rapid growth to both its sporting and general membership base, however, the Club continues to be driven by the core values that brought it into existence in the 1990s.

Proud to be a not for profit organisation, Caboolture Sports Club provides assistance back into the local community through its various sponsorship programs. Each year the Club gives more than $1 million in both cash and in kind support to a wide range of local community service groups, sporting clubs, individuals, and charities.

Caboolture Sports Club is the perfect place to watch all types of televised sport, enjoy live music and is great venue for the whole family. Take the kids with you and have a great meal while you enjoy the game. Or drop them over to the Kids Club so you can give the game your complete concentration ?

The Club goes all out for big televised sporting events and there’s even a courtesy bus to get you home safe and sound. For more information on Caboolture Sports Club and upcoming events head to http://www.cabsports.com.au.

If you’re looking to play sport or find other recreational activities in the Moreton Bay Region head to the council’s website https://www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/sport-recreation/.

Another excellent reason to buy land for sale at North Harbour is that we have THE FASTEST BROADBAND IN AUSTRALIA. I say this with emphasis because nothing is more irritating that when you’re streaming the game live and it either stops for 30 seconds to buffer every five minutes or cuts out completely right before the final whistle.

Each home at North Harbour (and even the free Wi-Fi in the park) has access to state of the art, fibre optic network capable of speeds up to 1Gb per second from a broad range of Internet Service Providers. (This is equal to the fastest broadband in Australia). More than enough speed to mean that whatever the event, you can watch it on whatever you want to watch it on, in whatever room of the house you want to watch it in.

We’ve got everything covered for the sports fan at home. Each house has the option of tapping into underground reticulated gas. No more missing the start of the game while you run to the servo to change the gas bottle over for the BBQ. You can even hook up your TV in the outside area and have the world’s best sports bar in your own back yard! Or watch the game while you chill in the pool / spa with a beer in your hand.

So, whether you’re playing, watching or talking about sports, our champion North Harbour has land for sale at Burpengary and it’s a winning place to live.

Let’s talk shopping & markets in North Harbour!

In this week’s Blog I’m going to focus on something which is a favourite topic of mine…SHOPPING!

markets in North Harbour
One of the major things North Harbour has going for us is our excellent location on the growing Northside of Brisbane. Not only is our suburb of Burpengary East recognised as one of the top “bang for your buck” suburbs in Brisbane (thank you Channel 9), our close proximity to major global shopping identities such as Costco and IKEA mean we’re ideally placed to enjoy some of Brisbane’s best shopping opportunities.

And while our neighbouring suburb of North Lakes is reaching capacity we have plenty of Home and Land Packages North Lakes style available for sale. In fact, many of our residents were referred to us by our friends at North Lakes when they visited looking for Home and Land Packages at North Lakes.

North Lakes shopping centre has recently had a major refurbishment and now has not only all the major shopping brands but also a cinema and outdoor dining precinct. With the Easter holidays coming up, this is a definite plus to have on our doorstep.

And, if you prefer to do your shopping al fresco, you’re in luck as the Moreton Bay Region also boasts some seriously lovely markets. Our closest is Burpengary market which is held at the State School every Saturday.

Well worth a visit, this friendly market has it all: Artists, hand crafts, food, fruit and veg, toys, plants, clothes, brick a brac and much more. There are even regular buskers to entertain you as you browse.

One of the largest local markets is about 15 minutes north west of North Harbour at Caboolture. Held every Sunday, the Caboolture Country Markets holds over 500 stalls including food, plants, fruit, vegetables, art, craft, new clothing, footwear, computers and general bric-a-brac. It’s a huge event and well worth a visit – make sure you take a hat, water and a comfortable pair of shoes…it’s massive and you’ll probably need more than one visit to get it all in.

Caboolture Country Markets Caboolture Showgrounds – Beerburrum Road, Caboolture

Slightly further north are the three Sunday markets on Bribie Island, approximately half an hour’s drive away and well worth the trip. These markets are the place to buy art, accessories, adult clothing, bric-a-brac, books and magazines, belts, children’s clothing, crystal, cushions, cacti, cakes, drinks, dolls and much more. We recommend enjoying lunch at Saviges or Sandstone Point Hotel on your way home…tried and tested by the North Harbour team of tummies!

There’s also heaps going on further south. Just 20 minutes from North Harbour is Old Petrie Town Market. Selling arts, retro wares, jewellery and antiques, crafts, plants, homemade treats, fruit and vegetables and plenty of food the Old Town also houses a selection of boutiques, a working blacksmith, pottery and plenty to see and do every Sunday such as horse rides, bouncy castle, face painting, massage and even psychics! Well worth a visit and wear stretchy pants – there are a lot of gorgeous food opportunities from German sausages to Thai food and waffles as well as samples to try from the local cheese and rum factories.

Also to the south are the Strathpine State School Flea Markets. Another sizable weekly event, with all-weather market indoor and outdoor stalls. This market offers haircuts, massage, food and drink, music, lots of trash and treasure, arts and crafts, hardware, plants and much, much more!

And finally, further inland is the Wamuran Country Markets. It’s a longer but very beautiful drive to get there, about 30 minutes from North Harbour and well worth a visit, maybe on the way to lunch at Woodford. Enjoy a BBQ and cake stall run by the Wamuran Men’s Shed, Devonshire teas on the verandah of the Old Wamuran School, pre-loved books, 2nd hand stalls, fresh locally-grown fruit and vegies, herb seedlings, jams and pickles/relishes, lots of crafts and plants, cakes and slices and much more. Come along for a browse, buy your supplies and gifts, and have a feed and a cuppa in the fun and friendly atmosphere.
