What are some of North Harbour’s Upcoming Community Events?

Did you know that North Harbour sponsors and supports over a dozen local Community Events and groups? We are a major sponsor for some of the biggest Community Events Brisbane has to offer, from the upcoming Abbey Medieval Festival to the Burpengary Christmas Carols, both of which attract thousands of visitors each year.

It is important to us to be a part of the local community and sponsorship is one way we can give back to the community which supports us.

The Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology http://abbeymuseum.com.au/ has been our community partner since the inception of North Harbour. The museum team and ours have worked together on our proposed Heritage Precinct which will preserve and showcase the important history of the North Harbour site.

We are the major sponsor of the Abbey Medieval Festival https://abbeymedievalfestival.com/ which will take place over one awesome weekend, July 8^th and 9^th, and is one of the biggest annual events in the Brisbane area. The Festival is a recreation of the hubble and bubble of medieval life right down to the food vendors and stalls. The Festival offers a plethora of medieval activities across the weekend starting from Friday night including authentic re-enactment camps and jousting to falconry and even a knighting ceremony!  

Partake of the sizzling meats and fine mead, and leave with the taste of history on your lips and your appetite for an authentic historical and personal experience satisfied. Another way we try to give back to the community is to hold our own Community Events. The next one in our calendar is going to be a biggie so save the date – Saturday September 16^th – for our Spring Fair. We’re planning a Movie in the Park, fireworks, food trucks and heaps more so make sure you plan to be around for that. Sports

North Harbour’s masterplan includes having a sporting complex of our own in the future, and sport and recreation are big on our list of must-haves for our residents.

Caboolture Sports Club http://www.cabsports.com.au. As regular readers will know, Caboolture Sports Club has been a strong supporter of North Harbour and we work closely together in partnership with the team to boost sport for families in our community. We currently sponsor three of their foundation Clubs, Caboolture Dog Obedience www.caboolturedogobedience.com.au, Caboolture Football Club www.caboolturefc.com.au/ and Caboolture Touch Football Club http://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi?assoc=208.

Deception Bay Little Athletics http://deceptionbayla.asn.au/ is a recent addition to our partnership network and we are very pleased to welcome them into our community. We’ll have more on this group in upcoming blogs.

Moreton Bay Lions AFSC facebook.com/moretonbaylions state of the art AFL Precinct is located under five minutes from North Harbour, in the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex and has been described by AFL Chairman, Mike Fitzpatrick as “the best community sporting facilities in Australia”. The Club has Senior, Women’s and Youth/ Junior teams with plenty of on and off the field fun to be had.

Community Groups

BPW Caboolture https://www.bpw.com.au/caboolture. Linda, our Sales Associate, brought this awesome group to our attention as she is one of their very hard-working members. BPW focuses on issues that affect women and work. BPW members give time and passion supporting our campaigns, running projects and driving change that’s good for women and the world. BPW’s focus is on empowering women through education and a supportive network of women locally and worldwide.  Much of this work is done through BPW clubs across Australia – the heart of BPW, where women find friendship, networking and mentoring.

North Harbour is a Season Sponsor of Commerce Caboolture. Commerce Caboolture is a dynamic and positive chamber consistently focusing on supporting its members and understanding their needs. The organisation monitors and encourages business growth as well as ensures the development of Caboolture’s future workforce. Leukaemia Support Queensland http://www.leukaemiaqld.org.au is our sausage sizzle partner of choice – they grill a mean sausage and run a tight ship! The team attends all our major events, tirelessly raising money for a very worthwhile cause, we’re very pleased to be able to donate to them and help them raise awareness.
