The Official “Milman” Stage 16 Release Is Coming To North Harbour!

Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of the North Harbour Blog. This week is a HUGE week for us with the upcoming launch of The Milman Release, Stage 16 of our development, and to celebrate we’re welcoming B105FM for a live radio broadcast and DannyBoys food truck.

Stage 16’s official launch will commence on Saturday 25^th February at 11am in Fitzroy St at the North Harbour Display Village. The Milman Release is particularly exciting for us as it our first release to be located adjacent to the open space at the Raff Creek environmental corridor and marks a major milestone in bringing North Harbour to life. As you can see from the Stage 16 plan Milman is also close to one of our proposed local parks which will include a playground, fitness equipment and shelters.

The amount of parkland and open space offered at North Harbour is staggering and in fact North Harbour boasts the largest area devoted to open space and parks within the northern corridor between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Extensive bike and walking tracks will give residents options for exercise and fun activities. Proposed playing fields, a sporting complex and a heritage park will complement the water based activities provided by the Caboolture River and Moreton Bay.

We hope you can join us on Saturday in the Display Village to celebrate the launch of Stage 16 and to get the party started we’ve invited B105FM to do a live broadcast from 10:30am. The team brings music, plays games and provides entertainment such as giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, noughts and crosses, blowing bubbles, fun and friendly inclusive dance/singing competitions plus quizzes and playing games in which you can win prizes. We’ll also have free cold drinks to keep you cool.

And if all that excitement gives you a hunger dive into a free lunch courtesy of the North Harbour team. DannyBoys will be creating gourmet wraps and giving them out from their Rock Star Cruiser. The Rock Star Cruiser is an “International Harverster Metro Van” and has a very cool history. The International Harverster Metro Van was produced in the United States from 1938 until 1975 and sold internationally. One of the first models built was sold to the Czechoslovakian Army and destroyed by the German Army during World War II. Unlike their trucks and other vehicles, the Metro bodies were built by the Metropolitan Body Company on the Grand Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a company that International Harverster would later purchase in 1948.

The original design was by Raymond Leowy of Studebaker and Coke bottle fame. The Metro design was one of several with which Leowy was involved or created during his association with International Harvester. The overall design of the Metro vans remained somewhat unchanged from 1938 until 1967.

DannyBoys International Metro, or as they now call it – The Rock Star Cruiser – has been lovingly restored and has been completely refitted in every way, shape and form, inside and out and is now a very unique “Food Truck”.
