Ten Things To Do In Burpengary

With so many stunning things to do in Brisbane, it is easy to overlook all the things to do in Burpengary and Burpengary East, so we’ve compiled a handy list for you, which is by no means exhaustive! Read on to find out more, and if you think we’ve missed something let us know on our Facebook page

1 – Swimming at Burpengary Regional Aquatic & Leisure Centre. The Centre, located a short 5 minute drive from North Harbour, is a state of the art community facility set in the heart of the Moreton Bay region’s most modern sporting precinct. With three heated swimming pools you can swim all year round! The Centre showcases one of North Brisbane’s largest indoor heated 50m and 25m aquatic halls and also has a large shaded outdoor leisure area including lagoon pool complete with beach entrance, water features, sun lounges, gazebos, café, BBQ’s, tennis courts and playground – perfect to entertain the whole family this summer!

2 – If art and crafts are your thing, why not take a class with our community partners, The Artisan’s Guild of Caboolture and District, located on the corner of Old Bay Road and Maitland Street in Burpengary East? This beautiful space also offers plenty of art to enjoy in the gallery, and opportunities to purchase original works. For more information, find the team on Facebook

3 – North Harbour Heritage Trail: Take a step back in time and wander through the leafy, riverside Heritage Park at North Harbour. Our Compass Centre tells the story of the European settlement in the area and you can then walk the 1.5km Heritage Trail and view some of the relics which remain today.

CREEC

4 – Visit CREEC (the Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre), a stunning 18 hectares of parklands and open space next to Burpengary Creek.  Encompassing a rare lowland rainforest riparian ecosystem, CREEC was chosen for its unique location and has several habitats, being home to a wide range of wildlife. On site is an administration building with auditorium, a community nursery, playgrounds, BBQ, walking and interpretive trails. It is located approximately 40 km north of Brisbane on Rowley Road at Burpengary and is definitely one of the very best things to do in Burpengary.

And if one class a week isn’t enough, you can visit The Yoga Shed which is just five minutes from North Harbour and caters for all yoga levels from beginners to advanced in a serene and welcoming setting.

8 – Uhlmann Road boat ramp – If you want to explore the delights of Moreton Bay, then Burpengary’s Uhlmann Road boat ramp is a great place to start. With an upgrade to the amenities and parking in 2021, it is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.
